Birds Eye Chilli

These tiny, wild, red and green chillies, found on our plantation, are among the top 10 hottest chillies in the world and are much loved by birds. 

They are an essential ingredient in Coorg cuisine, specifically the Pandi curry, bamboo shoot curry and the exotic bird eye chilli wine. Bird eye chilli is not only high on the spice quotient but is also known to have multiple health benefits like decreasing cholesterol levels, aiding in weight loss and improving digestion. 

Soaking these chillies in lime or lemon juice for around 10 to15 minutes helps bring out the flavour and also meliorates the burning sensation.
